Wong is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics . He is the sidekick and valet of Doctor Strange , the Sorcerer Supreme of Earth. Wong first appeared in the comic Strange Tales #110 but was unnamed until Strange Tales #119. In the 2006 miniseries Dr. Strange: the Oath , it was revealed that Wong stems from a family of monks living in Kamar-Taj .
