The Manhunters were the original robot army of the Guardians of the Universe. After the infamous massacre of Sector 666, where the Manhunters killed trillions of sentient beings after deciding life was too chaotic to result in peace in the universe, they were dismantled and replaced by the Green Lantern Corps.
